Below is an example of the type of portraits I drew while working for Kaman’s Art Shoppes. I did profiles using charcoal pencil and pastel chalk. |

To the right is an example of an ad I did while working for the agency. All “clip art” was hand drawn and type was mechanically set because computers were not available by my employer at the time.

Below is a book cover design I did in college. The cover was done in pen and ink and was created for a local author. |

After marriage and children, I now reside with my family in Marysville, Ohio and work as a freelance artist. I’ve always enjoyed creating art for my family and friends. After overwhelming requests for portraits and paintings from them, I decided to offer my art services to the community. I enjoy the freedom of working out of the home, offering portrait drawing worldwide and painting murals for local residents and businesses. In addition, I have recently gone back to school and have received the license to teach art. Please click on “Other Art Services” to view available art classes that are being offered in the Marysville area. Classes are currently being formed for the winter quarter. |

It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to share with you a little of my history as an artist and how Megdan Portraits and Murals came to be. From as early as I can remember, I’ve always loved to draw and paint. My mother was an artist too (as are many of my aunts), therefore I was fortunate enough to always have an endless supply of art materials available to me as a child. When I was bored, I would draw. With the help of some great art teachers along the way, I developed my skills as an artist even more. In high school, I won several awards in the annual art shows.

After graduating from high school, I went on to college to study art professionally. After finishing my first year of college, I worked for Kaman’s Art Shoppes during the summer of 1987 as a portrait artist at a major amusement park. Four years later, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a specialization in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University. Upon graduation, I went to work for an advertising agency located in Sandusky, Ohio.
